This is true, however, the fact that there are gates, bells, and lights at this crossing makes the driver clearly at fault no matter the horn sequnece, as long as there is some honking going on. And, in defense of the engineer, it does get extremely annoying honking the horn everyday

The engineer should have blown two longs, one short, and long--not two longs and two shorts (really two shorts and two really shorts). If a car had gone around the gate and been struck by the train, the driver might have had a case against the railroad (even though he/she would still have been clearly at fault).
