You'll sleep more soundly at night knowing your windows are secure.
To complete this How-To you will need:
A window lock
A screwdriver
Pliers (optional)
Step 1: Choose a lock
Choose a lock that suits your needs. Options include key-track stops, sliding-window locks, and bolts that lock casement windows in place.
Step 2: Set lock
Choose the position on the window's track or sill where you'd like the lock.
Tip: Set the lock to either keep the window fully closed, or to limit how far the window will open.
Step 3: Tighten lock
Depending on the style of lock, you will either need to clip it to the window frame or sill, or screw the lock to the track or sill to hold it in place.
Step 4: Tighten the bolt
If you need to, use the pliers to make sure the lock is set tightly. This ensures that intruders don't get in and your little ones don't get out.
