What happened to bus 799? The old Gilig? I miss the roar of the engine I would hear from a distance, it was soothing in a eerie way... and was a powerful bus!

Bus 799 reached the end of its useful life and was taken out of service in June. It was taken to the bus auction.

Yes it is. Each of our buses has on the front door a disclaimer that reads "The interior of this vehicle is under audio and video surveillance."

do you have any data retention policy for how long audio is kept?

Our recorders capture video and audio up to two weeks. So we are able to go back and retrieve anything that happened within the last 14 days.

We hope Greensboro will begin to see hybrid transit buses within the next 12 to 18 months.
