Notice that Rogers takes a little step before he gets ready to throw his left jab, which he intends to follow up with a flurry. Fedor stuffs Rogers's flurries over and over and finally KO's him, waiting for that little step from Rogers before unleashing his right. That was Fedor's plan. Everything else was just prelude.

In analysis of this fight it is rarely mentioned that Fedor injured his left thumb/hand area at 1:00 in the video. Following that, he was unable to throw any real punches with his left hand or use it in his submission attempts. Watch and you'll see, he couldn't grab/hold with it when he had Rogers' arm on the ground.

So he essentially fought the majority of this fight (and won) with one hand.
