Doing a project like this ensures everyone can have the chance to get a cheaper cnc and the open source aspect means you don't have to spend 1-20k for a license. In the long run the open source cnc may match the quality of the professional cnc (look at linux vs windows for example)
What a waste of money, that machine looks horrible. MFG is a complete waste of time. Bridgeport, Mazak. Thats the real way to go. It doesnt matter if its an accomplishment. i wouldnt use that crap if they gave it to me for free. My Bridgeport Series II will run over all these whack ass fool. This is pure hate comment. hate on me please. it just means im doing something right ;)
