A Pacific Northwest storm that brought snow, ice and powerful winds left a mess of fallen trees and power lines Friday as tens of thousands of residents already without power faced the prospect of a cold, dark weekend and flooding became a top region-wide concern. While temperatures warmed and the icy, snowy conditions abated in western Washington and Oregon, slick roads and fast-melting snow brought challenges for road workers, city officials and rescue crews. The region also faces more rain as swelling rivers lead to the worst flooding some Oregon counties have seen in more than a decade.

  • Wow, lots of damage. Are you all thawed out now?

  • @HoneymoonCampers Yes, the rains moved in and now most of the snow is gone. The power company is saying that power will be out in this area until Monday or Tuesday.

  • ack! scary spider! but the ice is rly pretty!

  • @melcrdd Haha, he was on our gate hiding under an icicle. Little bugger must have been cold.

  • i saw a tweet from The Templemans (if i'm correct) about the fact that some footage was used in the news, is that right? hopefully the cleanup isn't going to be too tough! looks like a big mess the weather made of the trees :( thank god nothing did hit any buildings!

  • @ronaldbonte Yes, The Weather Channel asked us if they could use some of the footage in their news stories. We don't have TV where I am at, but Terry said he saw it this morning. It is going to be a bit of work cleaning everything up. Power is still out for most of our area and they are say it might be out until Monday or Tuesday.

  • Do you have electricity?

  • here in north bend we finally got our power on after 3 days- the amount of trees down here is incredible- and last nights the winds were peaking at 60+- the ice storm was a definite reminder that mother nature answers to noone

  • @2Humans1Dog1Cat Thank you for taking time to answer me :) I absolutely love your videos!
