i like this one a lot, "Volk" is possibly my favourite Laibach since "Kapital".
this track is simply beautiful, as are most on the album.

I'm a shameless racist for saying Turkey should pay for its crimes like Germany did for its, so be it.

Hating the Ottoman Empire is part of nationalist DNA in parts of Europe that were part of the Empire for centuries. The messy fact is that ethnic Greeks and Serbs and ect helped run the empire at the highest level -- and their even blood ran in the veins of many Sultans. Actual religious Christians and Jews also formed the backbone of the empire -- part of the wealthy and political classes. It was much more about families back then; "nationalism" is a new idea.

Of course there were ethnic Greek and Serb collaborators who benefited from the status quo, but that doesn't alter the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Empire's non-Muslim subjects suffered discrimination at best and genocidal persecution at worst at the hands of the Muslim Turks. History cannot be erased.
