Do diapers biodegrade? Photographs from an actual soil burial trial of diapers. Compares gDiapers to leading chlorine-free diaper, disposable diaper. Within a month the gDiapers flushable is on its way back to the earth. Its components are re-absorbed by the earth in a neutral or beneficial way. In under two months, the flushable is completely gone. And if you are composting wet gDiapers in your own garden, you are adding vital nitrogen back to the soil. A year later, the disposables aren't going anywhere. Because they are mostly plastic, it will be 500 years before they decompose. Americans put 50 million diapers into landfills every day. That's 20 billion a year. gDiapers. No landfill required.

  • Composting these diapers actually works. I tried it and I use gDiapers ALL the time with my baby. She even has much less occurance of diaper rash.

  • Don't listen to this with headphones. It just about blows your brains out.

  • Surely the experiment was done where air was present? In a landfill there is zero air present which inturn delays the decomposure rate to practically nothing!

The only reason methane for example is created in landfills is because there is no air.

  • who has conducted this expirement?
