Where Did President Abraham Lincoln Live Doing The Summer Time In Washinton, DC?
If you have ever been to Washington,D.C. in the summer time you know what the Heat Feels Like--in the Nations Capitol. Well--President Abraham Lincoln who was the 16th President of the United States--lived during a time when there was no AIR CONDITIONING...Thats right ..NO A/C..but what he would do is travel here to the grounds of the soldiers home in north west Washington,DC--to escape the ..HEAT.
The Lincoln Cottage as it is now called was similiar to the Camp David version that is now used by the White House. Unlike Camp David where no one can get in with out an appointment...The Cottage....as it was sometimes called allowed The President to be seen and to interact with the regular folk. The area where the soldiers home is located has changed over the years..but on a quiet night--if you listen closely..you can almost hear President Abraham Lincoln as he rides by....this is...www.radiodiary.com
