@tatorsal, Guess I can't fault him for not knowing me; I'd be finding fault with most people I meet! :-) The one time I had to communicate with him, I could tell he seemed to need a personality transplant, but I think I'd heard that long ago from a gunsmith or two, so I was not surprised. Plus, there are lots of older guys still who are hardly aware of the Internet, especially YouTube. the majority of people who recognize me and want to talk about guns are in their '20s and '30s.

The Ed Brown only has serrations at the rear, Also the colt has a full length guide rod for those of you looking for that option in a commander size 1911. The Colt's serrations are more traditional but I do like the " snake scale " look of the Ed Brown. I would like Hickok to compare or try out a Colt XSE and get his opinion on the two. :)

For those of you out there in 1911 land looking to purchase an ed brown take a look at colt's xse commander, I purchased one back in October there is minimal difference in the ed brown and colt. Both are commander size all stainless pistols the only difference i can see from the video is the bobed tail on the main spring housing and the serrations on the bever tail grip safety and the front strap. The Colt has serrations at the front and rear of the slide where the ed brown only has them, tbc

Sir, that is one sweet 1911! I guess I'm a few years behind since I just ran across this video. Glad I did. I learned a few things about the 1911; something I'm just starting to gain an affection towards.
