i had a rhodes in for repair, i ended up just replacing the original can caps, But i found a ground loop inside the that chassis, and the original hum/noise i was really hearing in the end, ended up being the transistors in the amplifier being noisy. So two issues were found.. 1. factory ground loop issue, 2. noisy transistors in the power amp cards. .. I love working on these !!!

Nicely presented.
So the objective of this mod is to lower hum due to power supply ripple?

yes, that is correct as long as the filter caps are not shorted you can bridge them. It's ok to do this even when there is no ripple, it will save you from doing it anytime in the near future if ripple were to appear.
