On November 17 Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker holds a press conference announcing the City of Newark's Ground-Breaking Veterans Program. The City, with the unanimous approval of the Newark Municipal Council, has partnered with the G.I. Go Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on serving Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, to help all the Veterans living in Newark, NJ. Supporters of the program participated in the Grand Opening Ceremony and Include Congressman Donald M. Payne of New Jersey, New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Deputy Commissioner Col. Stephen Abel, IAVA Director and Founder Paul Reickoff, New Jersey VA Health Care System Director Kenneth Mizrach, and New Jersey State VFW Commander Richard C. Bradshaw. Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey sent staff members in support of the program, and Governor Jon Corzine sent a letter of support. For more information, please visit www.gigofund.org
