Driving our small EV, the 1991 mini-el city. This vehicle was originally developed in Denmark, but is now being produced in Germany.

  • its dangerous to drive in a car like that..

think about if there were another car smashed in him.. :o

  • Although it does not look like it, it is actually quite safe. The driver is protected by a very stiff frame and a roll-bar. In the 20 years that this vehicle has existed, there has been no fatal accidents.

Just a few weeks ago a CityEl driver collided with another vehicle while doing 60km/h. The vehicle was totaled, but the driver got away with a few bruises.

  • Much more noicy than I would have expected, but cute

  • You are right, there a no noise dampening materials used, so at higher speeds there is a lot of road/wind/mechanical noise.

That said, it sounds a lot louder on the video than in real life.

  • @motornalle1 It's only dangerous because everyone else is driving whales.

  • @motornalle1 And if you were going on a bicycle? .. What if all cars would look like that? Everything is relative friend....

  • @mprahm Yes, i have been driving a Mine-El and they are not that loud.. Totally ok to ride in!

  • @MrKontrollanten Yes, this one is from 1991. The vehicle was in production in Denmark from late 80'ies to mid 90'ies; then the production moved to Germany, where it's still made in small numbers.

  • fantastic! ..... my only worry is the safety cell around you... and with a child on board, even more so . But you;re on the right track here! lovely lookin lil thing!

  • @TheMCMXXL The reason for the high price is the low number of units produced. Unfortunately, with that price, they will never produce a high number of units...

  • it just look very dangerous!(:
