I had to endour a smattering of jerks from all over the US on the pier at Titusville Florida just across from Cape Canaveral, as close as a citizen can get, for 7 hours to get this footage. I blame Nasa.gov for tricking me into thinking the launch was at 9:30 am and not 2:39:55 pm. That's Eastern Time for all you West Coasters. Yes, i am very tired and very sunburnt. And damned if i wouldn't have given my right gonad for a telephoto lens for my HD rig. Video stuff is expensive no?

You've seen other videos of the independence day launch, but this one has the most balls and has that "hey, i was there with a crush of drunken partiers/rednecks/one couple who had full tatoos and piercings of all ages set to metal" kind of a feel. And to think on this same day North Korea had their own launches, friggin poetic no?
WHAT'S THAT UP IN THE SKY, THE TEA POO DONG WHATEVER. Glad to live in a country where we send 7 jocknerds into space armed with iPods instead of warheads.

As I watched this today, I was ported away to that private place. Hah! You all know the place. For argument sake I will call it a "room" Every human knows the "room". It is where intensity is played out and where daydreams are lived when surroundings are formidable or just unsuited for our thoughts As I viewed this video a port of "recall" opened.. The port was vivid and unforced.. Like I was for at least a moment breathing in air preserved from moments long passed.

They can be extremely loud, just depends where you at really. Lets just say that anybody within 3 miles of it when it takes off will die from the sound vibrations.
