At a curve in the levee in Yuba City, California called Shanghai Bend, there's a small set of rapids in the Feather River.
Tom and I walked out there just after Christmas to check them out.
In 1955, this part of the levee broke and flooded southern Yuba City.

I smoked that good herb down at shanghai bend all the time. I liked it more before the 97 flood.

Back in '78 or '79 a friend and I spent a few hours one afternoon going over those rocks on air mattresses. We found out afterwards that another kid from YCHS that we knew drowned there later that same afternoon.
