My first try on Adobe Premiere! Still rough on the edges, but a man should know when to stop and wrap up his work.

Here, I try to highlight similarities between Michael Jackson and other entertainers. There are many, many more comparisons that could have been made, but this little video had already consumed so many of my hours... And yes, I forgot to add Bill Bailey (1912-1978), who was the first man to ever be recorded moonwalking, at the end of the video.

  • are these all are true, i mean i see in the video, but proved or u think about it and done ? :)

  • @BugraJACKSON Hello! What do you mean by "all true" and "proved"? If you're asking if it's sure Jackson purposefully used moves from other dancers, as stated at the beginning of the video, we can only guess which are direct inspiration and which are coincidences. But surely many of them are not coincidences, since Jackson himself said James Brown and Fred Astaire were some of his biggest influences.

  • Great work! I love that! However, you forget in your excellent video another big influences like Marcel Marceau, the french mime, Jackie Wilson, a great american singer... and Bob Fosse, Gene Kelly... And I remember at the end of the 70's John Travolta (for Saturday night fever movie)... all these artists gave of influences to Michael's creativity! Well, a lot of great artists, geniuses! Thank you DLoWinter

  • @MisterFrenchy1987 Hello, thanks for the nice comments. =) As for the artists I didn't include, back when I made the video, either I didn't know them, or I don't know of any good footage to include. Take Jackie WIlson, Michael mentioned him as a great influence, but I never saw Michael doing anything Jackie did.

  • @DLoWinter And for Bob Fosse in "Little Prince" in 1971-1972 with snake in the grass looks like to "Billie Jean" and "Smooth criminal"... Marcel Marceau is one of his greatest influence (with James Brown) of his carreer with the art of mime mixed with the work did in the 80's with Jeff Daniels (another influence!) a hip hop dancer in the band called Shalamar! And Gene Kelly is a dancer like Fred Astaire, both are the greatest dancers of the golden age of Hollywood, elegants dancers like MJ!

  • @MisterFrenchy1987 Hello again! As I said, I knew some of these names but not necessarily their work. I knew Travolta but not his movies or else I would have included footage from Grease, where Travolta does at least two moves Michael often performed later. I discovered Marceau and Fosse later, I didn't check Jeffrey Daniels (I knew who he was though), and so on. The video was made over one year ago, since then I discovered many new things. Also, it's a lot of work to put it all up.

  • Some1 said to me that Gene Kelly and Astaire were greatest at there form James Brown was greatest at his form of dancing Freddie Mercury has the greatest vocal range. But then MJ came along and took the greatness of all of them into one and added himself to it which is what made him THE Greatest as he could do it all!

  • Amazing research!!

    Wonderful job!

    SO interesting!

This truly honors Michael's genius. Like Picasso, among our notable 20th century artists, Michael was a genius at integrating eclectic influences in remarkably innovative ways!

    Thank you for this!

  • Interesting.

  • よくぞ、まとめましたねー Good job (^_^)b

  • Oh also...Did ya know that Fred Astaire said these words about Michael:

“Oh, God! That boy moves in a very exceptional way. That's the greatest dancer of the century”.

    And

“I didn't want to leave this world without knowing who my successor was. Thank you Michael!”

  • Damn...This is incredible...We all have our legends/influences....But who were his? I knew about Fred Astaire and James Brown but the others were great...And man....MJ and Brown on stage together, and his Motown audition when he tore up the floor at an adorable 9 years of age....I can't thank you enough for putting the time/effort into making this so we could see it <33

  • GREAT WORK U HAVE A NICE MIND AND MIKEE WE LOVE U FOREVER AND U R ALIVE FORE NOT 2009

  • @DLoWinter Hmmm, yep, thank u

  • Great work, thanks :)

  • Thanks again for the vid! Another influence with the movie ''Anchors Aweigh'' in 1945 Gene Kelly & Jerry Mouse (of Tom and Jerry cartoon) have danced together. A huge influence for ''Moonwalker'' in 1988... Well, Gene Kelly was a percussive dancer, inspired and elegant with great energy and creativity in his style (like Michael), in his movies called MGM Musicals (1930's-1950's). As F.Astaire, J.Brown and M.Marceau, Gene Kelly and Michael Jackson have similarities, an obvious artistic kinship.
