Cuts to numerous Plymouth transit routes and Dial-A-Ride will become effective Dec. 14. Dial-a-Ride, for example, will not operate after 6 p.m. or on weekends. The Plymouth City Council recently approved a contract that includes service cost increases of 3.5 percent in each of the next two years. A representative for Plymouth Metrolink, operated by First Transit Services, said the service cuts alone are not enough to cover increases in expenses, included wage increases for operators and mechanics and real estate lease increases. He said the company is seeking to control costs and no administrators will receive a pay increase next year.
