The Tea Party began as a movement to take back the United States from corrupt politicians. The Tea Party movement has been hijacked by Republicans and is now all about guns, gods and gays. Karl Denninger of The Market Ticker was one of the original founders of the Tea Party and calls the direction of the group an absolute joke.

2) Ending the Patriot Act

3) Ending unwarranted eavesdropping on American citizens

4) Ending corporate control of all gov't agencies

6) Bringing back iron-clad regulations on Big Banking (Glass-Steagall, Usury Laws, etc.)

7) Stopping military invasions and occupations of sovereign nations and reducing bases around the world.

The Tea Party WAS hijacked. I saw it up close and personal. We original members stood for all 7 listed above. Now it's OWS who stands for every single thing listed 1-7.
