I USE 'WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER' CAPTURE FROM VIDEO DEVICE
1. FILE NAME - .WMV extension
2. CHOOSE PLACE TO SAVE CAPTURED VIDEO - create folder ahead of time, Movie Maker 'Project' will remember only the named folder as source.
NEXT

OTHER SETTINGS HIGH QUALITY VIDEO (LARGE) selections here greatly affect video end product, this is what I use. NEXT

play on camera to position where you want to start
1.START CAPTURE

- camera automatically starts playing
2. STOP CAPTURE - camera automatically stops playing
FINISH
you can disconnect camera and use Window Movie Maker

FILE, SAVE PROJECT AS - this saves a movie project and where source files are

drag and drop movie clips on Storyboard at bottom

3. FINISH MOVIE, SAVE TO MY COMPUTER - when ready to save as a movie to share ( .wmv)

Window Movie Maker tips

I create my own folders ahead to organize where files go

remember Capture and Project files can't be manually shifted around, Movie Maker only looks where they were created.

Window Movie Maker Tips
you will have 3 filenames to keep straight .wmv - captured video in .mswmm - Project .wmv - the final movie version created for sharing

I use In , Proj , Mov as part of the filenames
