man! im so proud of our boy! i didnt think he was that comfortable at talking even during jingle ball!i thought it was like this recent month. but he improve tremendously in everything. great job david! im so proud of u!

David has had to overcome his discomfort with talking about himself, especially since the rest of the world is fawning over him. I think he realizes that it "goes witn the territory" but sometimes he has all he can do to spit the words out when he's asked these idiotic questions from clueless interviewers. He may look boyish and "cute", but when he hits that stage, he is all business and is one of the most dynamic and charismatic performers I have ever seen. (oops, I'm fawning.

Contrast this interview with some of the early ones on American Idol and beyond. The growth is palpable and it's all in the same year. Truly remarkable. By this time next year, American Idol will seem like 10 years ago. David is a real pro. He demands the highest quailty from himself, and has the talent to make it happen. I loved this interview--no "lettuce boy", "do you have a girlfriend?", or any mention of David Cook. Maybe we're finally moving on.
