In a 24 hour period around September 23, 2010 localized heavy rainfall dumped 8-10" in areas of Southeast Minnesota. Many of the small rivers and creeks swelled well out of their banks in a short order and wide spread flooding occurred in many of the regional communities.

Wenonah Canoe's own World Class whitewater paddler Dana Henry and Marketing Director Jake Greseth grabbed the video cameras, loaded up a trailer and headed for the Root River near Lanesboro, MN in search of some rare whitewater paddling in Southeast Minnesota.

They found some gnarly water, did some great play boating and caught it all on film as the small river ragged at over 13,000 cfs. With his extensive experience, Dana tamed the river and made the Wenonah Rendezvous dance with effortless strokes.

  • @brentrobertson1 yep, I've been paddling over 40 years and have manymulti week Canadian wilderness river trips logged. But that "bubble bilge" was a freak I never got used to.

  • @hoz49 There's a lot to be said about paddling skills.

  • why not just kayak?

  • Great paddling skills. I have the first Rendezvous with wood trim (kevlar center rib) and I love it. I would not trade if for any other boat I have ever paddled. Great all around craft. I wish I could paddle that well though.

I would love to find a kevlar core rendezvous (original design).....

  • Interesting video but I sure wouldn't promote anyone going into floor waters for any reason other than rescuing someones life.

  • I had a Rendezvous for a couple years. I swam more times in that canoe than any other I've owned. Something about the "bubble"bilge (evident at 1:19) always caught the water at the wrong time.
