That's HOT! I'm surprised your C-250 didn't start on fire after playing that disc!!!!!!

check out celtic thunder's version

You could call this an early remix of a popular song originally made by white dudes. Just like what RnB and Hip Hop artists do now, But 80 years earlier. : )
It was originally recorded by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra.
Yes his name really is "Whiteman."

Hi. I've just created an antique phonograph/record site on U-tube as well and own several Georgia Melodian sides; check it out! I have posted one ("How You Gonna Keep Kool?") that I have never found online anywhere.

My grandpa has original cowbell versions of this song

Very nice record!

Thanks to you, the reproducer is loud and clear!
I now have a framed photo of Edison on the wall above the C-250. It's the photo where he's seated in a wooden chair beside a C-250. What the photo doesn't show is the fire extinguisher on the floor next to Edison. :) Rocky

"Doo Wacka Doo (A 'Wow-Wow' Foxtrot Wow!)" was written in 1924 by
Clarence Gaskill, Wil Donaldson and George Horther. Several recordings were made, the most notable one being the one cut by Paul "The King of Jazz" Whiteman & his Orchestra. Interestingly enough, no version sold well enough to be considered a hit. The 1924 "Doo Wacka Doo" should not be confused with Roger Miller's 1964 pop and country hit "Do Wacka Do" (Smash 1947), which is an entirely different song (note the spelling).

@horarwgt I like Paul Whiteman's rendition with vocal refrain by Billy Murray. I also like all the other 1924 dance band renditions that I've heard. However, I consider the George Melodians' Edison diamond disc rendition to be one of the best dance band recordings of the 1920s.

Thanks VictrolaJazz.

Thanks. This rendition of "Doo Wacka Doo" is probably one of the hottest dance records of the 20s.

Rocky, I love it! The "take" I have of this on DD is notably different than yours, too!

Thanks! It is interesting to hear the various "takes" of a diamond disc, as the dance bands do vary their performances. That's why you and I would love to have a copy of every "take" of every Georgia Melodians side.
