Memory foam, nor Spring Free are good for backaches. Inner springs mattresses are the best as they have the support you need. The alternative sleeps are best for pressure points, like if you wake up with your arm numb.

I apologize that this was not explained properly when you purchased your new mattress. Did you buy from Furniture Barn?

I have a Sealy Trueform. Personally, it's a fantastic mattress. Originally, I wanted a tempurpedic, but... side by side, trueform feels vitually identical to tempurpedic + it's cheaper. I love the mattress and it has never caused me any problems!
