So according to you, for the twelves years Howard was in office Australians were voting for the Liberal Party and not to keep John Howard as Prime Minister. Costello never had the guts to mount a challenge against Howard - because he knew the Howard brand was so powerful amongst the electorate and the party.

If the leader didn't matter than Malcolm Turnbull and Brandon Nelson would have gone better in the polls.

Sorry, Kevin, but no one voted for YOU except the people in your electorate. You were not elected as PM by Australia, the ALP was elected to govern, and as the leader of that party you were given the responsibility of Prime Minister. Australians elect a governing party, and no one's ballot paper said "Kevin Rudd" on it, except the people of Griffith.
