Yeah the decals do waver quite a bit from year to year, 80 and 81 hood birds are different from 79s and the shaker decals are commonly messed up, Olds 403 shaker decals should read "6.6 Liter" while Pontiac 400 decals should read "T/A 6.6", most people just put T/A 6.6 on regaurdless even though it is incorrect, also Chevy 305s should read 5.0 and Pontiac 301s read 4.9

For me on the other hand, im looking for a 79 with a 455, TKO 5-speed, 4-wheel disc, and functional shaker conversion

he wanted the car not to be flashy, and yes he said I want decals smaller with red / silver/ charcoal, I showed him original catalog with 70-81 decals, and the ones in the car are the ones we applied at his request, in other words we pleased the customer, we know they are not correct for 78 since we specialize in second gen TA's, hope this clarifies, for more info please visit

I had one just like this.No decal on the hood either..i sure miss that car. My dad was a SC state trooper, and he said that car was to fast! lol He hated to drive it.
