How can you argue against Metric system which is Used in Engineering, Medicine, Rocket science and most of the world?

The imperial system is crap and I am not being bias since I grew up on it. That crap should be killed already.

For example if you say in an oil drilling operation that there is 45,000 llbs of force on the bit I can picture a tank or caterpillar tractor sitting on the string or if you say there is 2200 psi in a cylinder I know what can happen if you break the valve. On the other hand if you say there is 18 deca - newtons on a bit or 13,000 kilopascals of pressure, we older people have to pause and really think what forces we are dealing with.

I remember when an American exchange student decided to learn A-level Physics with us. We were supposed to measure 2 pieces of constantan wire and naturally he used inches, one was 3 1/4" and the other was 2 1/3". He got stuck in the maths so I had to explain to him that to find the total length he had to convert to top heavy fractions (13/4 +7/3) then he had to find a common denominator so its (39/12+28/12) and then he had to simplify, he then got bored and asked if he could borrow my mm ruler.

@mroliverstephenson Uh, subtract 1746 from 1842 to get the difference in mL. How is that hard? 1842-1746=96. There is 96mL difference.
