I was literally thinking of this song when watching this anime. I heard the guitar riffs on episode 12 and just the atmosphere/the theme of the anime was literally screaming this song!

Marilyn Manson just takes a far darker approach to the song, much like A Perfect Circle did with John Lennon's Imagine. The song isn't necesarily worse, just not what you're used to, and the mood is darker. He extends an already good song out to an audience that wouldn't have otherwise liked it ^^ I personally love both equally.

I'm about to make an amv for lain with this song. I've had the idea for awhile and am disapointed that is is so unoriginal. All the rest of my Lain amv's are with songs not yet used for lain amv's.
