The Negative Impact Of The Marijuana Culture Upon Women. Excerpts from the public domain film: Social Seminar series by UCLA and the National Institute of Mental Health (1971). Portrays a young college female student who smokes marijuana, usually with friends. Raises such questions as why does she smoke, how does she view the drug culture and to what extent does the use of marijuana effect her lifestyle, ambitions and self-perception. When women smoke marijuana, the active ingredient -- THC -- appears in their reproductive organs and vaginal fluids. Sperm exposed to this THC are likely to act just as sperm exposed to THC in the testes. "When women smoke marijuana, nicotine, or other drugs, their reproductive fluids contain these drugs," "The woman smoking marijuana is putting THC into her oviduct, into her cervix. If the man is not smoking but the woman is, his sperm go into her body and hit THC in the vagina, oviduct, and uterus. Her THC is changing his sperm." Just as in Males, marijuana effects the female in the part of the brain that controls the hormones, which determines the sequence in the menstrual cycle. Its been said that females who smoked or used marijuana on a regular basis had irregular menstrual cycles, the female hormones were depressed, and the testosterone level was raised. Even though this effect may be reversible, it may take several months of no marijuana use before the menstrual cycles become normal again. Mothers who smoke marijuana on a regular basis have been reported of having babies with a weak central nervous system. These babies show abnormal reactions to light and sound, exhibit tremors and startles, and have the high-pitched cry associated with drug withdrawal. Occurring at five times the rate of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Fetal Marijuana Syndrome is a growing concern of many doctors. Furthermore, doctors worry that children born to "pot-head" mothers will have learning disabilities, attention deficits and hormonal irregularities as they grow older, even if there are no apparent signs of damage at birth. Pregnant or nursing mothers who smoke marijuana should talk to their doctors immediately.

Actually Amsterdam only has plans to close a small number of shops, because they were too close to schools. In fact, when possible, they aren't even closing them, simply are moving them to a different location.

It has very little to do with "organized crime". And where ever you got your information, it was wrong.

The leaders in Amsterdam have actually expressed that they would never close "many" of the shops... They like things the way they are, because it works very well.

this woman reminds me of myself when I started smoking. At first ur happy and then you change, and get bored and apathetic about everything. U stop finding normal stuff cool or worthy of your attention. Acheiving things doesn't seem important. the part where she talks about wanting to do things and travel is great. on weed after a while you get bored and realize you've just been sitting on your butt. But she has no idea what's happening to her. Very informative video, even if a bit dated.

hell ya, I would rather have a sober woman (my girlfriend) who has never touched weed, is whole as a person, actually showers, has respect for herself and know more than 2+2. Fuck stupid stoner women and men losers.

I agree! It's not the mother's right to trash the child's health. Going with the logic of people who are ok with abortions, if the baby is "wanted" it is considered by them to be someone's child. That being said, the mother shouldn't have the right at that point to harm the health of their developing child, because it's not just thier body at the moment. Scientifically speaking, there is a complete other being in there, contrary to current blind belief.

I don't think the world would be more peaceful if everyone did mj. some people get really paranoid on it and get violent (like someone I knew in highschool). Not so peaceful for the people who have to deal with the ones out of their natural minds.

Ok, so only people wishing to be exposed to it should be allowed to be exposed to it, and as for expense of your health, that is an individuals freedom to choose to trash their health or not is it not? (I do love these discussions, they are very good, thanks for posting these Rosary)
