The C-17 Globemaster III demonstrates its shortfield landing ability by landing in less than 1200 feet at EAA Airventure 2007, July 28. Though not on video, after the fullstop, it backed itself up to the ramp!

  • If you listen to the engine, bigwill619, and look at the flaps, slats and tabs, you'll see that he, indeed, was applying max reverse thrust. Further, I spoke with the pilot afterwards, as I am the Morning Host for the only commercial station that broadcasts directly from the grounds. I asked him specifically about this landing.

  • @SiemAkalAlis Most of the braking is by brake and not reverser

  • he didn't need max reversers he was already going slow
