My dad had the same laptop and it did the same. I found tons of videos of dells which are broken usually like this.
there are sounds and everything but no screen DONT BUY DELL

This is why I never use Dell it always shut down or overheats don't use it!

Dells suck. The same thing happened to mine. I called Dell 3 days before the warrenty was up and they dicked me around until it was and did nothing. They suck!
