The Government seems dead set on forcing the most vulnerable in our society to shoulder a disproportionate amount of the politely termed economic adjustment. While there are many more fair and equitable ways of securing the future of Ireland, this Government has set on a path of cuts to payments and services that will have lasting repercussions. Go to www.thepoorcantpay.ie and make your voice heard by emailing your local TDs and the relevant Ministers to tell them that the poor can't pay for the mistakes of the Celtic Tiger.
Gilmore and the Labour Party are not going to put things right either.

It`s good to have a united voice to speak to the arrogant members of Government. If each of us tell a friend or two about The Poor Can`t Pay then that voice will become loud enough to make those deaf ears listen.

@PressPlay2Go Hi mate do you have a link or reference for those statistics?
I ask because I'm doing an essay on poverty in Ireland.
If you have could you give it to me?
Thanks, oh and well done on the video.

Lenihan said: 'worst is over as €4bn in cuts unveiled' - - but that makes no sense whatsoever! Those who have suffered under the latest cuts had no hand or part in the corruption that has brought Ireland to it's knees. The corruption continues.

On the island of Ireland 14 people die each and every single day due to health inequalities and poverty - 5,400 premature deaths every year. This stark statistic is from 2007 - Tackling Health Inequalities. Proof, if it were needed, that the Celtic Tiger was a myth to the vast majority of people. Since that was published the banks have received billions and the poor have received cuts in their subsistence levels ... and with more savage cuts to come!
