This is a tour I took of The Lasater Mill House when it was up for sale in the summer of 2008. (I actually forgot that I made this video.) The real estate company that had The Lasater Mill House listed held a public open house and I attended. Lots of people went simply because this is a historic and rather unique house. Everyone wanted to finally see what the interior looked like. This would probably be the ONLY opportunity most of us would ever have to be inside of this house. The Lasater Mill House was listed as having 6,800 square feet on an acre lot nestled into the side of a 50 acre lake. The house was built in 1929 - price tag: $3.3 million. One of the most unique features of this house is that the lake comes right up to the side of the house. It was originally a grist mill of some sort - but I cannot seem to find the history regarding that.
The Lasater Mill House was sold to an individual in late 2009. The house is now used for an artist residency program and private art shows.
The Lasater Mill House website states:
"The people at Lasater Mill House may be an eclectic group, but they share one common denominator - a deep appreciation for the arts.
Situated on serene Lasater Lake, the historic Mill House provides the perfect background for peaceful reflections and the essence of inspiration. With this in mind, the artist-in-residency program became a natural extension of the philosophy shared by those at Lasater Mill House:
Every Act Creates A Ripple
By providing a space for artists to actualize their potential, the hope of furthering the passion of the arts to others is born."
