  • up here when they move the steamers they come out by GP30 or sometimes under their own power

  • up here at spencer nc they have a Seaboard decapod and my dad says it cant run that they disabled something so it coundnt run they have two small consolations but they wont run the decapod

  • Even if she is put together it would be a pain in the butt to try and take her anywhere. Because Union Pacific owns EVERYTHING in the world they dont allow anything they dont own onto their tracks. Dad was the fireman on the 819 back in the 80's and even despite the selfish old men that ran everything he loved working the locomotive. UP doesn't understand the value of history.

  • as dinky of a town as Pine Bluff is I can understand them not getting any funding... They should have moved it into the UP Yard maybe Little Rock could have chipped in and help rebuild her for excursion...

  • they moved it with that tiny thing. dang

  • @unionpacific5511 more then likely never. from what i understand is most of the nuts and bolts for the steam engine is missing. people who have prints for this loco is not sharing, the people in charge of it are ass holes and wont let anyone work on it. pretty much its a screwed project. they need to let a younger generation take control of it before they mess it up to the point it cant be fixed.

  • when will 819 run again

  • I don't get it. The Arkansas Railroad Museum used to run #819 really often, and now they're ignoring that giant steamie for leasing diesels. WHAT A WASTE ON POWER! GET THE ENGINE FIXED, THEN I'LL GO SEE IT IN ACTION, AND THERE WILL BE NO QUESTIONS! GET ROSS ROWLAND INTO THIS, AND THEY MIGHT GET SOMEWHERE WITH THI DAMNED RESTORATION! I'm gonna go take a nap now. Bye.

I believe they own the engine, and they need something in operation to move stuff around.
