So there are two or three truly great singers today. EVERY singer from the jazz era was great. That's the difference. In other words....music sucks today.

If you like evolution, than surely you must regret as much as I do that those talented artists don't look back at all, but only look at the current trends. There has been massive evolution in jazz music but it has been completely dropped in favor of ease.. There was no evolution out of jazz into modern music.

There ARE good singers today. But ask yourself. how would most sound if you took away all the LOUD background music? Not really very good. Now take Donna Summer. No one can say her music was not great. She could sing like a angel.

I agree with you, but I think that usually when people diss the music of the 2000's I think they mean the artificial production of artists for money eg. Britney spears or Nicki Minaj etc. Both are rich and famous because of their looks. Their music has no depth whatsoever and they didn't get through because they are talented.

it makes me sick when people go to old music and say "music sucks now"...stfu...this music doesnt sound the same as 1800's music....and its okay...MUSIC EVOLVES..doesn't mean it gets bad just because it changes...if music stayed sounding like this we wouldnt have Michael, Janet, Whitney, Mariah, Tina, Prince, Queen, Cher, Madonna, Beyonce, or Adele...and they are all just as talented as Dinah..its good to appreciate and give respect to the classics but don't trash other talented artists
