I re-discovered an old cd-r with this home recording I made in 1998, when I purchased a sitar through eBay. I also have a few seconds of video (more recent).
I KNOW the original version is played with guitar, the intro is played by keith richard and all through the song, and in the background is Brian Jones playing a sitar. My version is NOT the Jones section, it's my version, of the song, played by ear, the way I was able to play it on sitar in 1998. That's all.

  • is there any way you could upload a tutorial of this song for beginner sitar players like myself?

  • I'll try to make one-- thanks!

  • Perfect

  • @DownTownStalker

It's really played on sitar. The Rolling Stones were on the Ed Sullivan show in 1966 and Brian is seated playing this on a sitar. Wearing a hat with a feather in it.

  • @DownTownStalker Yes the intro is keith on guitar but in the middle what this guy is playing on sitar is pretty much the same thing brian plays.

  • @MrJonesstones no the intro and main riff is actually played on guitar.as you said you only play by ear.look it up

  • @MrJonesstones Sorry that was supposed to be a a "not" in there some where.

  • @DownTownStalker Umm... no it is not really played on guitar. Brian Jones plays this on sitar. just look it up.

  • it's really played on guitar, but it sounds great on sitar!

  • Fantastic sitar!
