This week the Butte County Board of Supervisors voted to put the medical marijuana rules on the ballot. The board had adopted an ordinance, but is holding off now, due to complaints that it discriminates against low-income citizens' ability to grow medicinal marijuana on small lots. NORML (The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) has threatened to sue the county if it does not rescind the current ordinance.
