The 2005 version of Swingtime's well-known "Cat's Corner" piece performed at our 2005 Spring Show. It's an homage to the "cat's corner" at the northeastern corner of the Savoy Ballroom, in which the best dancers showed off their best stuff. In our version, the team performs choreography at the beginning and end of the song, and then Swingtime members perform solos, duos, etc., of their own creation in order to show off their very own ideas, moves, styles, and aerials. The group choreography was created by Darick Tong and Meg Kale. This is our "Black and White" costume set: bowling shirts with khaki pants for leads, white tank tops and black twirling skirts for follows. The music is an edited version of Brown Derby Jump by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. For the most part, no two performances of Cat's Corner are the same. This performance features more original choreography, a two-guy couple doing athletic stunts, a role reversal couple, duos, and aerials and tricks including the girl's leapfrog throw, leapfrogs, and backflips.
