@bodiloto Other than Fleta, who had a short but wonderful career,there were other tenors like Barioni,Campagnano,Cortis,Wunderlich,Masini,De Muro,Merli.Aragall,Pertile,Penno,Volpe Fillipeschi,Corelli,Del Monaco,Gigli,Vinay,Di Stefano,limarilli,Lamberti,&Richard Tucker whom were far superior than the MEDIOCRE Domingo, who has the public "Ingannati"ma io e Lei non siamo ingannati

Ascoltando Fleta spesso mi chiedo come si può apprezzare un tenore corto come Domingo (chi urla,grida,voce nel naso...)quando al inizio del secolo scorso cantavano tenori come Fleta?!?!?...

@Vivaldicellist cont'Forza,Aida,Ernani,Chenier&Trovatore.But,i did hear PD do a wonderfulTrovatore early 70s.I did not compare Corelli specificallyto PD,that would be unfair.I just listed a number of tenors I thought did the aria better and I left out Daniele Barioni,Antonio Cortis.Two absolutely beautiful voices.Thank You. @Vivaldicellist Continued,Yes, people all over the world do love Domingo,&if they enjoy him that much they should.He is a fine actor.interpreter of roles,& has a very good quality of voice.However his voice has been overmatched by the roles he has taked on,espescially in Turandot.He has cracked many times in different performances in the question&answer aria,and other operas as well. Do youthink this is a mark of a world class tenor?Other operas I do not think he was suited for were Pagliacci,

@Vivaldicellist I realize that my opinion is not shared by most,but if you read some of my comments on this page,it should give anyone some food for thought.YesPD has sung over130different operas,However he does not have even 3 signature roles.Having incredible versatility is not just the number of roles you sing but in the matter that you perform those operas.Lauri Volpi,Fillipeschi,&Merli had great versatility,singing anything from Favorita to WilliamTell in pitch without notorius transposing.
