Trailing 5-1 with just 14 minutes to play, the Wild mounted the largest third-period comeback in franchise history on January 9, 2010. Guillaume Latendresse scored the tying goal with 1:33 remaining, and Owen Nolan scored in the eighth round of the shootout to give the Wild a 6-5 victory over the league-leading Blackhawks.
