Looking at a few common Holley 4 Barrel carburetors in this video and showing some differences.

  • On a carb with mechanical secondaries could you disconect the linkage between the primary and secondary and drive the car/truck as a two barrel carb to improve fuel economy?

  • @MrCarlosCruz1 Not sure how well that would work, you may run into a lean condition under load such as a hill climb. Disciplining your throttle foot to not mash it to the floor too often may be a better coarse of action. That way you will still have passing power. Don't know too many vehicles with mechanical secondaries that fall into the fuel economic category. Thanks for posting.

  • shouldn't the 4781 have 4 corner idle?

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 My understanding is the older 4781's did not have 4 corner idle and the newer ones do. The base plate I purchased is set up for 4 corner idle so I think it would be a easy conversion if I wanted to. It runs just fine on two corner so I'm going to leave it alone. Anyway, nice 72 Firebird. Check mine out if you get a chance.

  • i have an oldsmobile 350 motor i have rebuild and i equipped it with a holley 570cfm vacuum seconadary!is the only one i found in short notice!do i have a problem in my motor?does it needs a more cfm carb?

  • @Oldsmob455 ever heard of a 6339? it has the WEIRDEST throttle setup ive ever seen. maybe ill upload some pictures or a video of it. its very unusual ive never seen one like it. i paid 5 bucks for it.
