It's not a guitar playing that solo. A bowed guitar sounds VERY different to that. Did the girl play the piano on the recording? I doubt it watching her mime to it. Nevertheless.. a fantastic song and a great band.
Other websites (Wikipedia and the "official" website) credit Philomena with playing piano and Colum with playing bowed guitar. I agree that the "bowed" section here not sound like bowed guitar, but Colum is also "playing" an acoustic guitar line and the song was not recorded at a time when people were hung up on exactly replicating the instrument set on a mimed performance. The solo line definitely does have a "Brian May"-style guitar content, doubled with another instrument or two.
What a top song, I've loved it for years ever since owning the 7" vinyl. And now the video!! I never expected to see this! Top quality too, well done.
