does the g1 always need a internet connection to work? i live in the countryside i get fine t mobile reception for text calls but no 3g. i want to know if i can use the internet through my wireless router at home instead of 3g as i receive no signal. without having problems with the phone etc

the 3g connection is a differaunt connection to the phone calls and texts ect.. you can use my video to connect to a wireless internet and it wont affect your calls or text i can assure you

im having trouble with connecting to the google mail and you can only get to the home screen by signing in!
...do you need internet to sign in?!

ohhh , yes it is 100% free
You arent doing anything that would charge, the only thing your are paying for is the actual connection with your internet that your home provides , hope this helps :)
