To unite Muslim and non-Muslim students from all over the South Michigan Region, in an EPIC event...
For the first time, see yourself and your friends on the BIG SCREEN!! Join hundreds of MSA members in an event that will blow your shoes off! (I will have all the information later)
Guidelines For Submitted Films:
1) Content of film must be halal. This means, but is not limited to, no references or innuendoes to sexuality, vulgar language, drug use, any sort of racist or derogatory dialogue.
2) Islamic attire must be observed by both males and females.
3) Films must be handled by MSA members, however, there is no rule defining whether or not non-MSA members may involved in the films. Anyone interested in taking part is fine, as long as they abide by the guidelines.
4) Length of films must be at least 5 minutes and cannot exceed 15 minutes. That is the absolute maximum length of a single film.
5) Submitted films must be in their final edited form and burned into DVD format on a DVD-R, with the name of the film, group leader, and school name labeled on the disc.
6) Each school will be allowed to submit a total of 3 films on behalf of their campus. With this said, they will be responsible for screening the best 3 films if more than 3 are submitted by their members.
7) The final deadline to submit screened films to the University of Michigan-Dearborn Muslim Students Association will be March 13th, 2009. Any entries after this date will not be considered for the event.
8) Each MSA will also be allowed to create their own trailer for their chapter. These trailers cannot exceed 2 minutes.
9) Submitted films may be any genre.
10) All films, from every chapter, will be sent to a neutral screening committee to ensure that nothing was missed. This committee will be responsible for piecing together all the films and deciding the order of the program.
Guidelines For Submitting Commercials:
1) As a break in between films, we may show short commercials also created by anyone who wishes.
2) These commercials can be of any genre, and must abide by all the same rules as the submitted films with the exception that they may not exceed 30 seconds each.
3) Each chapter may submit up to 5 screened commercials.
