RiD Ultra Magnus was his own guy too, and that was before Animated, he combined with Optimus to form Omega Prime, unless you go by the Japanese version, where his name's GOD Magnus, and he combines with Fire Convoy to form GOD FIRE CONVOY.

That was before Hasbro got the license, after they did, Japan got a dub of the cartoon and rereleased Diaclone/Microman toys that were rebranded into Transformers, sometimes redecoed, but you get the idea =P.

The USA version was the combination of 2 separate types of transforming robots so Hasbro could sell more toys. In Japan the Autobots and Decepticons were both good guys, not called by those names, and had nothing to do with one another.
