Excellent! I remember my Dad taking me to see this film when it opened. It was great. Just me and him. Everytime I see something relating to this magnificent movie I think of him. He passed awhile ago but he's always with me. He was cool and he was my Dad-thanks for posting this!

"Remember what Frederick the Great said: L'audace, l'audace, toujours de l'audace!"

For over a thousand years, Roman coquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of a triumph- a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters and musicians and strange animals from the conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him in the chariot, or rode the trace horses.

Awesome Music!!!!
"Behind the conqueror stood a slave, holding over his head a golden crown, and whispering into his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting."
A perfect postscript to this magnificent movie.

this is just great. a subdued soundtrack to a monumental movie and the greatest acting performance, perhaps, in the history of cinema.
