  • Someone told me they put the whistle back on for the 2009 season. Is this true?

  • If the village railroad put it back on, I would be able to hear it from my house and at work. The only GVRR activity that I saw already this year so far, is their US Navy GE Centercab kicking around some rolling stock in the yard the other day.

  • Edison's whistle has been modded again for 2009. See my newer two GVRR videos.

  • you know jrahrig, even thought the village staff thought it was too loud. despite what they say. i say it's a great whistle that should be screaming two longs a short and one last long. but hey thats one guy's opinion.

  • I'm just happy that I cought when I did.

  • The whistle in this video is a 6 chime taken off of the D&M No. 8. It only stayed on the locomotive for about 6 days. We put the 5 chime back on shortly after this video was shot due to many complaints. Village staff said the whistle was too loud.

  • Is This true?!?! *_*

Then I must of got a rare catch with the Edison then. Lucky Me. ^_^

  • The staff are wimps, they have to get used to the fact that this is a REAL whistle. I do like the five chime that's used normally, but really only when they blow it loudly.

  • Great video! Love this train!

  • the linkage also was part of th problem and it was either on or off, no feathering so its sitting on the shelf next to the boat whistle and #7's, which will be heard again soon

  • Plus the old 6-chime the locomotive had in the 90s was probably just as loud, if not, probably louder. So, the village people need to suck it up, and live with the new whistle, not have it put away and replaced with the wimpy 5-chime.

  • i agree with you Santafe158, the staff will sooner or later have to deal with it.

  • amen to that my friend, this is a video that should not be deleted.
