I have Aspergers syndrome and yet I thought she would look at the basket. That's where she left the ball, it would be completely illogical to look for it in the box. I have experienced similiar situations and can learn to adapt them for situations I'm presented with. I honestly think this test is only valid for kids, if at all. As a young adult I often miss that people might feel bad about certain things which I struggle to apply to myself, but with each passing by I learn.

@baha1844 could you name me some literature? This is very interesting. I made this test in an experiment with autistic children. Somehow the test is very difficult in general.

I picked the basket with the same thought the she doesn't know it's gone yet!!!!

carl young says put yourself into other peoples shoes(empathy) so when some one wanted to commit suicide and told him he/she was going to throw the selves off the tallest builds he didn't want to put himself into that persons shoes. but he let many women down with his brand of soicial justice and was ask what is the difference between revenge an justice.
take care 5&1 pounds and to all other be safe.that story came from t.mellor manchester. tramp c.f

@chavrons1 I don't believe in empathy as a psychic ability. But I do think your reasoning is interesting, nonetheless.
-
@fancyshmancypants Empaths are very intuitive, I would have felt that the girl had placed or transferred the ball into her box. Don't those with a strong lack of Empathy or void of empathy take what belongs to another person. There would be no reason to believe the ball would be still in the basket if it was left near someone else. I would have sensed the emotions of the other person.
-
I would've assumed she'd look in the box simply because the ball had previously been covered with a blanket in the basket, and when the ball was moved, there was no longer the noticeable shape of a ball under the blanket. I mean, it wouldn't be hard to notice a limp blanket when it should've had a lump under it.

I did try the test in the link above and came out as a......suspense......aspie.

I would recommend taking one of those longer internet tests- Heres one thats longer and will give you a more accurate answer:
Try the link in the description.
If you are still wondering, I would suggest seeing a specialist

I knew I would know~BUT I KNEW SALLY WOULDN'T...as knew that was " the test" answer before...it was...as to not have assburgers~so do i have ASSBURGER?

@PiPhD continues...
People with Aspergers tend to be "objective" which is neither empathetic nor non-empathetic. They are "perceived" to be non-empathetic by "pathetic" or "path-ological" people. Being objective people with Aspergers tend to be "logical" because their brains are not "polluted" or distracted by emotions. So, please do not presume that a person with Aspergers would assume that Sally would look in the box simply because the viewer "knew" what had actually happened. Make sense?
-
I have Aspergers also, so, my question would be, why would Sally be motivated to question the location of the ball in the first place? Why would she "assume" or presume that anything was wrong upon her return? So, for me, it appears that this is not a question of empathy as far as the problem was initially presented. Perhaps you might restate your premise that upon Sally's return she noticed that something was "amiss" (wrong) like the blanket/towel was different somehow and then go from there?
-
Sally just trusted Ann. Now, if this kept happening over and over,to Sally she might develop a trust issue, with Ann. When we are little parents are in control. And would and probably should spank Ann for stealing. Now it is, how do you feel about this or that? It should be, what do you think about that? Developmental skills of empathy are explained by a loving and good disciplined Parent. The Bible says, that when children get spanked,it is for the benefit of the child, so save them from Hell.

Very informative!
-
I know perfectly well what empathy stands for, I am an HSP and empath, but it doesn't match with the contents of this test/film. End of story.
-
@58Moonflower The term "empathy" refers to the understanding of another person's situation or feelings. There is no single test for autism.

Well... I guess the results of yer test make me an AssBurger...
I enjoy your videos and think you are doing a valuable service....keep them coming!

@baha1844 Did you try the link in the description? That's the ultimate quiz. It has dozens and dozens of questions. Like I said, your results from this video don't diagnose you or prove it wrong.

New studies indicate that people with Asperger's actually experience TOO much empathy and shut down due to over stimulation.

@baha1844 Yes I heard from that Tony Attwood himself, but the video was made months ago and i really don't want to take it down.
