Skate for Scholarships with RGV Killer Bees, RGV Ice Center

The RGV Killer Bees and the RGV Ice Center are partnering to Skate for Scholars on Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 1 to 5 p.m. to benefit South Texas Colleges Valley Scholars Program.

From 1 to 2 p.m., children and families will have a chance to get autographs from and pictures with players with Killer Bees hockey team at a special meet and greet. Skating begins at 2 p.m. with proceeds from admission fees benefiting STCs Valley Scholars Program, which funds two years of STC college tuition for qualifying students from across Hidalgo and Starr counties. STC Valley Scholars have gone on to become doctors, teachers, nurses and run businesses, positively contributing to the growth and welfare of the Rio Grande Valley.

The event takes place at the RGV Ice Center located at 201 North 26th St. and Beech in McAllen, just one block north of Business 83. Use 23rd Street Entrance. For more information call (956) 445-2542.
