Unboxing of Canon 1D (first generation). I purchased the camera from Adorama and when charged the battery, the contact between the battery and the camera was bad. Also, the AF did not work nor did the spin wheel on the back of the camera. I sent the camera back to Adoroma (free of charge) and they are going to replace it with a new one. Free of charge. Stay tuned for the Canon 1D unboxing part II.

  • you need to hold the menu or select buttom when ever you need to use the thumb wheel on the 1D MK I bodies, I have both 1D & 1Ds MK I bodies that;s how I know, but good luck getting a good 1D body.

  • Thanks man. I did not know that. VERY helpful needless to say!

  • if u read the manual u would of known it was working lol

  • @BlankMessageTV it didn't actually come with the manual. i now know how it works. thanks though :D

  • thanks man. i was excited too. it is MUCH better than dealing with ebay.

a 5D is something i've considered. like i said thought i like the body of the 1D series so i might get a 1Ds but that is a way off like you said.

hopefully the next camera will work!

  • how much did you pay for it?

  • I think the autofocus didn't work because it was on back button AF.

  • did you have AF switched off?

  • Remember 4.1 Mega-Pixels is also if you have to crop in, if you need to crop your image in you lose quality

  • where is part 2?

  • I thought I had a new Mail when it reached 2:50 (fail)

  • When u going to post pt. 2?

  • Nice! The 1D bodies are great. The 1D1 is still a great camera despite its age. I got my 1D3 and its so much better than the Canon 7D I also have. Its well worth the investment if you are serious about digital photography even as a hobby :)

  • if you shoot sport dont buy the S series, you need speed not quality :D
