  • When Ms Ponsot reads:

"No wonder of it: shéer plód makes plough down sillion

Shine, and blue-bleak embers, ah my dear, Fall, gall themselves, and gash gold-vermillion."

-- Especially the "ah my dear" part -- it was just spectacular.

  • Just let the guest expert read the poems.

  • Thanks for loading this. It's good to see and hear poetry discussed.

Can I suggest, Michael, that you prepare which poems you will read before the discussions, and then practice the reading? With a poet like Hopkins (especially, but with all poets really), the music of the poetry (which you rightly point to in your comments) is essential to its enjoyment. Or let the guest do all the poetry reading.

Keep up the good work. Wish I could attend.
